Dr. Ghosh and graduate student Tiffany O'Dell at IEEE SoutheastCon

Dr. Arup Ghosh had the honor of organizing the technical program, student presentation competition, and chairing technical sessions at the IEEE SoutheastCon 2023 conference held in Orlando, FL. As the vice-chair of the IEEE Alabama Section and a member of the Region 3 Audit Committee, Dr. Ghosh also participated in the IEEE Region 3 Committee meeting. According to him, the experience of meeting students and IEEE volunteers from around the world was remarkable. Furthermore, Dr. Ghosh and his graduate student, Tiffany O'Dell, published a paper titled "Online Threats vs. Mitigation Efforts: Keeping Children Safe in the Era of Online Learning," which was well-received when presented virtually. This work emphasizes the online risks to children when learning online and the importance of protective government policies and educational initiatives that give kids the knowledge and empowerment to protect themselves online.
